Miyota 821A caliber: dimensions and drop-in group

Used in: the decorated 8215, with Cotes de Geneve and perlage on the same mechanism.

Mechanically and dimensionally the 8215 at 26.00 mm x 5.67 mm, dressed up with finishing. It is a genuine drop-in for an 8215 case: the footprint, stem and dial feet are identical.

Drop-in group: Miyota 8200 footprint (26.00 mm x 5.67 mm). Matching diameter and height is necessary but not sufficient. A donor is only a true drop-in when the dial-foot positions, hand-hole sizes, stem length and calendar layout also match. Two movements can share a case and still need a new dial, re-broached hands or a cut-to-length stem.
