Ronda 5040.B caliber: dimensions and drop-in group
The published footprint of the Ronda 5040.B and which movements share it.
Used in: a full-feature Swiss quartz chronograph with a big date, in premium quartz chronographs.
A quartz chronograph at 28.60 mm x 4.40 mm with small seconds, tenths, 30-minute and 10-hour counters and a big date. It shares the 5000-series family with the 5030.D but its counters and big date need a matching dial.
Drop-in group: Ronda 5040 quartz chronograph, big date (28.60 mm x 4.40 mm). Matching diameter and height is necessary but not sufficient. A donor is only a true drop-in when the dial-foot positions, hand-hole sizes, stem length and calendar layout also match. Two movements can share a case and still need a new dial, re-broached hands or a cut-to-length stem.
