Close in diameter, not a drop-in. The Miyota 9011 (26.00 mm x 3.90 mm) and Miyota 9019 (26.00 mm x 3.90 mm) are near in size but differ in height, dial feet or layout, so moving between them means a new dial, hands and often a case adjustment.
The Miyota 9011 is a 90-series premium automatic with a 24-hour sub-hand and no date. The Miyota 9019 is a slim no-date 90-series automatic, in clean-dial dress and field watches.
They differ in calendar layout (centre seconds, no date, 24h sub-hand vs centre seconds, no date, slim). A 90-series slim automatic at 26.00 mm x 3.90 mm adding a 24-hour sub-hand to the 9039's clean layout. It shares the 90-series dial-foot pattern, so it interchanges within a dial built for the family and its 24h register.
Matching diameter and height is necessary but not sufficient. A donor is only a true drop-in when the dial-foot positions, hand-hole sizes, stem length and calendar layout also match. Two movements can share a case and still need a new dial, re-broached hands or a cut-to-length stem.
