A watch brand's country of origin shapes its tradition, from the Swiss movement houses to the Japanese makers who build their own calibers in volume. From brand to movement
Most watch brands do not make their own movements; they fit calibers from houses such as ETA, Sellita, Miyota, Seiko and Ronda. The maker pages explain each of those houses and its calibers.
That connection is the point of this site: knowing which movement a watch carries is the first step to finding a drop-in donor when it needs one.
How each manufacturer page is built
Every manufacturer page draws on two open sources. Its structured facts, the country, founding year and headquarters, come from Wikidata. Its description is the opening of the company's Wikipedia article.
Nothing is invented: where a company has too little recorded to make a substantial page, it is left out rather than padded. The source links on each page let you check the facts and read further.
